Andreas Gursky




Andreas Gursky (* 1955 in Leipzig) is considered the most important representative of contemporary photography.
He studied from 1977 to 1980 with Michael Schmidt at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, before joining the Becher class at the Düsseldorf Art Academy in 1980. Gursky was a master student of Bernd Becher in 1985.

From 2010 - 2018, he was a professor of fine arts at the Düsseldorf Art Academy.

His works "99 Cent" and "Rhine" are among the most important works in art history.
