Roy Mehta

Roy Mehta (*1968) grew up in Harlesden, one of the most multi-ethnic and multicultural districts in London. His parents came to Great Britain from India. In the 1990s, still as a student, he walked around his neighbourhood and photographed its residents. He entered their houses, clubs and temples, he took photographs on the street. He neglected this series for years as he got involved in projects that allowed him to explore his complex and unambiguous cultural identity.

In our collection we hold a set of 10 prints from his series Harlesden he created between 1989 - 1993.
